These terms govern your use of the Thrift Map mobile application ("the app"), published by Hugo Software. By installing or using the app you agree to them.
The app
Thrift Map shows a map of secondhand shopping places: thrift stores, charity shops, flea markets, antique dealers and vintage boutiques. You can browse the map or a list, filter by shop type, search any city or area in the world, open a shop to see its address, opening hours, phone and website, save places, plan a trip and share it.
There are no user accounts and no registration. The app needs an internet connection to load the map and shops. Places you have saved can be read without one.
Subscription: please read before subscribing
Thrift Map is a paid app. There is no free version and there is no advertising. Access to the map requires an active subscription.
- The product is Thrift Map Premium, an auto-renewing subscription.
- Before you subscribe, the app and Google Play show you the plans available to you, any free trial or introductory offer and how long it lasts, and the price and renewal period in your local currency. What is shown at the time of purchase is what applies to you. Prices are set on Google Play and can differ between countries and over time.
- A free trial or introductory offer, if yours has one, starts as soon as you subscribe. Unless you cancel before it ends, your Google Play account is charged the regular price when it ends.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, until you cancel it.
- Payment is charged to your Google Play account.
- You can cancel at any time in the Google Play app under Subscriptions, or from the Settings screen in the app, which links there. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; you keep access until then.
- Cancelling does not retroactively refund the current period.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under Google's refund policy. We do not process payments and cannot issue refunds directly.
- If your subscription lapses, the map locks again. Nothing else on your device is affected.
All billing is handled by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your payment details.
Shop data: accuracy and limits
Shop locations, names, opening hours and contact details come from OpenStreetMap, a community-maintained database. This means:
- The data is contributed by volunteers and may be incomplete, outdated or wrong.
- A shop shown in the app may have moved, changed its hours, or closed permanently.
- A shop that exists may be missing from the app entirely.
- We keep shop data for up to about a month before refreshing it, so a recent change may not appear yet.
- We do not verify, endorse or inspect any listing.
Please confirm opening hours before travelling. Thrift Map is a discovery tool, not a guarantee that a shop is open or exists.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any shop, market or business shown in the app.
Attribution
Shop data and map © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). Shop data is fetched through the OpenStreetMap Overpass API, place-name search uses OpenStreetMap Nominatim, and map tiles are served by the OpenStreetMap tile servers.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the app, circumvent the subscription, scrape the app's backend in bulk, or redistribute the app. When using data that originates from OpenStreetMap, respect the ODbL licence.
Availability and changes
The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind to the extent permitted by law. The app depends on third-party services (OpenStreetMap's Overpass API, Nominatim and tile servers) that may be slow or unavailable at times. We may add, change or remove features, and we may stop distributing the app. If we discontinue the subscription, we will stop billing for it.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Hugo Software is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app, including any wasted journey to a shop that turned out to be closed, moved or non-existent. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your country.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.
